با فرارسیدن سال ۲۰۱۴ میلادی، شاهد برگزاری جام جهانی فوتبال در کشور برزیل خواهیم بود. بر طبق سنت همیشگی، این بار هم EA وظیفه ساخت بازی بزرگترین رقابت فوتبالی جهان را بر عهده دارد. بازی ۲۰۱۴ FIFA World Cup Brazil که با شعار بیشترین تعداد حالات بازی بین تمام بازی های رقابتی EA معرفی شده، شامل موارد جدید و بهبود هایی نسبت به فیفا ۱۴ خواهد بود. سیستمی جدید به نام حرکات انفجاری (Explosive Movement) به بازیکن اجازه خواهد داد با یا بدون توپ شتاب خود را تنظیم کند و سریع تر تغییر جهت دهد. مکانیزم دیگری به نام World Class Control شامل کنترل بسیار دقیق پاس ها و دریبل ها خواهد بود. حدود ۱۰۰ انیمیشن جدید نیز برای پاس ها، پنالتی ها و غیره طراحی شده اند. این بازی شامل ۲۰۳ تیم ملی از سراسر جهان، ۷۴۶۹ بازیکن، ۱۹ مربی لایسنس شده و ۲۱ استادیوم جدید خواهد بود که ۱۲ عدد از آنها استادیوم های جام جهانی برزیل خواهد بود.
صحنه های جدیدی از جمعیت که شامل بنرها و پرچم ها نیز می شود، وجود دارد. همچنین در بازی رویداد های شهری هم وجود دارد، مثلا وقتی با تیم ملی انگلیس گلی می زنید طرفداران شما در لندن واکنش نشان می دهند. این نسخه دارای مد های جدیدی نیز می باشد، از جمله مد The Road to the FIFA World Cup که به بازیکنان این امکان را می دهد تا در مراحل گروهی به جام جهانی راه پیدا کنند. Along the way, fans can get tournament updates from EA Sports Talk Radio, featuring Ian Darke and Andy Goldstein, or Roger Bennett and Michael Davies (Men in Blazers), with over 50 hours of recorded content to stay up to date on all the action. For those who want to celebrate the tournament online, Road to Rio de Janeiro is an all-new mode that lets players win their way across a map of Brazil’s 12 host cities in licensed and authentic stadiums.
